VR Geolab: Bringing Field Experience in the Classroom
The paper starts with some basic definitions related to virtual reality (VR) and continues with an overview on the market size and diversification of VR applications. This is extended with a research on the role of computer simulations and gamification in modern education, how these improve teaching results, what are the strengths and the problems. In addition, it is studied how this technology is currently implemented in engineering and geospatial sciences and workflows in particular and how this could be developed in future.
A newly established VR geospatial laboratory (VR geolab) is presented. It is tracked the whole process from field measurements through data processing to visualization in virtual environment. As the VR geolab has already been presented on several events, it is made also an overview on different audiences’ adoption of VR technologies and the shared VR experience in particular.

A Talk about Geodesy, Science and Education
Geodesy at the Bar
"Lectures at the Bar"Lectures at the Bar" is a new project that started last month at "Mixtape 5" club in Sofia. It intagrates the typically inconceivable combination between consciousness and fun in a muted atmosphere and drinks that could be conductive to a variety of topics in arts and science.
After the lectures on "Feminism" and "Cosmic Distances" it comes the third one on "Coordinates of the Living Water"Coordinates of the Living Water". Personally I promise to bring you under the ground - both figuratively and literally, regarding to the location of the bar, to initiate you in the exploration of a fairy world. Those of you who follow my work might be familiar with some keywords but you must be sure that this lecture is going to be different from what you already know.
So, meet you there on 5 April!

Multi-sensor Cave Detection
Tanya Slavova & Atanas Rusev
Caves are important for a wide variety of work fields, ranging from construction engineering to mineral exploration and archaeology. Despite their scientific importance, geologists expect that only a relatively small number of caves have been discovered so far. Current exploration efforts are mainly done by speleologists, but this is a time-consuming activity and limited to exploration based on existing surface openings. The authors of this article show that the combination of multiple geophysical techniques provides an easier and effective on-surface exploration method that meets the challenges of complex karst environments.
